This has been extensively tested but only on a test forum so I'm obligated to call it a BETA release. This searchbot allows your visitors to search your SMF Forum installation from the default Joomla search component. The Mambot allows for limiting the number of results returned, whether or not to show the BBC in the results, and specify the section name where the result was found. ie (My Forum / Forum Category). Your SMF installation must be on the same database as your Joomla installation. Multiple options for user authentication is available. Choose whether or not all of the staff may view all search results or only that in their own your level. Select by user type and/or grade.
**** I believe that this SearchBot is free of defects but I haven't been able to test every possible scenerio ****

    Finally, a way to search your phpBB forum from your Joomla! search box.  This is a real handy plug in that will allow your users to get search results from your forum database when the do a search on your Joomla based website.  This plug in is optimized for "Mehdi's phpBB Bridge" but will work as a limited feature searchbot for non-bridged phpBB installations as long as Joomla and phpBB share the same database.

    This will also work with "Integration Joomla Phpbb2 by Przemo 1.0 RC4" but will return search results as either guest or registered member ONLY!  Even Admin will only get registered user level search results.  This is the same for non-bridged phpBB installations.

Joomla! and phpBB MUST be in the same database for this to work.

Once I get over this not being able to read Polish problem I have, I'll add the option to better search the "Integration Joomla Phpbb2 by Przemo 1.0 RC4" bridge.  Currently, the installation method required for "Integration Joomla Phpbb2 by Przemo 1.0 RC4" is the real problem.

Marketplace SearchBot will allow your users to view matching classified ad results along with the rest of the normal Joomla search results. This has been developed using Marketplace 1.3.1 and Joomla! 1.0.11 Stable but may work with other versions.

Features include the following:

  • Ability to limit search result.
  • Ability to display results based on the component "Top Ads" option.
  • Show category results before, after, or not at all in search results.
  • Choose the category name that will be shown in search results.
  • Check For Script Updates in Admin Control Panel.
  • Better search control over the previous version of the script.

    • This uses the same fundemental coding used for the stable JoomlaBoard SearchBot plugin we offer.

This SearchBot overcomes an incompatability bug for MySQL version below 4.1. 

This is the SearchBot that completes your JoomlaBoard installation. With this plug in, your visitors can search your forum from the built in Joomla! search component. No longer will they have to enter your forum are to get the results they are looking for. Many enhancements and fixes have been implemented in this version.

Include your Hot-Or-Not2 gallery data iin your Joomla search results. You can search through image names, titles, and user comments. Additionally, you can include with your normal items results for categories before, after, or not at all. This is the same basic core that the JoomlaBoard SearchBot uses with a few optimization and usability features added. New with this SearchBot is a feature to provide credit for the script only shown if the Bot returns a result. It is just a link back to Handy PHP in the rest of the search results. It shouldn't be too offensive since it looks just like the rest of the search results. The credit link may be remove by contacting Handy PHP. Details will be emailed to you.
