New JoomlaBoard and FireBoard SearchBots Released. 1 Year ago Karma: 4
I am pleased to announce that JoomlaBoard SearchBot 1.2.0 and FireBoard SearchBot 1.2.0 have been released. The new versions fix some major and minor issues as well as offer new features and enhancements not available in previous versions. While the originally released FireBoard SearchBot was merely a copied and modified version of my JoomlaBoard SearchBot, the new release is an authentic Handy PHP product.

As always, I offer these scripts free of charge and will continue to research and bug reports or suggestions posted in the forums about the Joomla! Extensions offered here.

The biggest improvement is how the SearchBots determine whether or not the user may view a search result. Other improvements include better result ordering including by most popular and the ability to search by "All Words", "Any Words", or "Exact Phrase". For convenience, an update checker has been added to the SearchBot configuration screen in the Admin Control Panel.

Due to a major issue in the previous versions of these SearchBots, I highly recommend that everyone upgrade immediately.

Thank You,
vujsa

Very odd, this site is using 1.0.13 and I don't have any problems with the SearchBots.

If you could turn debug on for your website and copy any error or warning messages along with ALL of the database queries shown at the bottom of the search result page, I should be able to determine the cause of your issue.

Look forward to hearing back from you soon.

I'm testing the searchbot with Fireboard and it only works if the user is not logged into the site. I have tested with Fireboard set for all users and registered users. I have also tested several variations and here are the results:

#|User logged in | Searchbot | Fireboard Security | Result
1 | No | Public | Registered Users Only | Shows all content
2 | No | Registered | Registered Users Only | Shows No FB content
3 | Yes | Public | Registered Users Only | Shows No FB content
4 | Yes | Registered | Registered Users Only | Shows No FB content
5 | No | Public | No Restriction | Shows all content
6 | No | Registered | No Restriction | Shows No FB content
7 | Yes | Public | No Restriction | Shows No FB
8 | Yes | Registered | No Restriction | Shows No FB content

Summary,
Configuration #1, I expected the results not to show the forum posts, but could see them.
#2, worked as expected.
#3, I expected to see the FB content, but didn't.
#4, I expected to see the FB content, but didn't.
#5, worked as expected.
#6, worked as expected.
#7, I expected to see the FB content, but didn't.
#8, I expected to see the FB content, but didn't.
I'm using the latest versions of Joomla, Fireboard, HandyPHP searchbot, &amp; Community Builder.

Any help would be appreciated to get forum results when the user is logged in.<br><br>Post edited by: JTGlenn, at: 2007/09/16 14:53
