I'm glad you like the Mambot.

I'm not entirely sure how to answer your question. Perhapes if you provided more information about what you have in mind.

The Mambot is a plugin that better integrates JoomlaBoard into Joomla!. If you are wanting to remove the default forum search box and replace it with the Joomla! search box with the JoomlaBoard SearchBot installed, you will need to edit nearly every JoomlaBoard file to remove the Search input box then place the default Joomla! search module in a place on your website where it appears to be part of the forum.

But, I don't recommend removing the forum search box since it is much better at searching the forum than the SearchBot is! The SearchBot was designed to add forum messages to the base of content that is searched through when a user is looking for something. The Joomla! search results don't really provide the same level of detail about a post as the forum does.

I've not used it, but I understand that there is a script that will allow your users to select what part of your website they are searching through.
It shows a regular search box with a drop down menu of search bases like "Entire Site", "Forum", or "Google". I'm not sure if this is a component, module, hack or a combination of all.

I hope this sheds some light on you issue.
