Making "Search for Any Words" Standard 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I like your Search FireBoard Mambot. I have two smaller issues that I hope you could help me resolve:

  • The standard search now looks for "Any Word" versus "All Words" returning in almost all cases way to many results that are often not relevant

  • Any search displays as first result http://www.handyphp.com - even if that (excellent) site has not relevance

  • I have checked elsewhere on this Forum and could not find any references to this issue. Can you point me to how to resolve these two issues?

Well, currently, the SearchBot defaults to the "Any Word" option which is what most of the Joomla SearchBot do. I will note this for the next release of the SearchBot to look into allowing the Admin to select the default option.

As for the credit link, it shouldn't show up when you set it to "relevant only" unless you search for something related to programming or web design.

What version of Joomla are you using?

Re:Making "Search for Any Words" Standa 7 Months ago Karma: 0
Thanks, can't see why people would want "Any Words"; if I type two+ words it is almost always to narrow the search and if I type one word "All Words" is as good as "Any Words", so keenly awaiting the update.

I am using Joomla 1.0.13 Stable. The choices offered seemed to only Newest, Oldest, Most Popular, Alphabetical or by Section/Category. I cannot see Relevant Only and would have assumed that relevant would be a standard for each Search Engine?

It shows on every query this text as the first entry regardless of any settings:

Thanks, that was very helpful; I should have found that guide myself.

Am eager to hear from you in regards to the Any Words issue and might come back to you in regards to other Joomla Search Bots (still in selection process).

Unrelated to this, do you have an idea of how to change Fireboard so that a registered user can show two or more images on a post?
