I wrote a new Mambot this week to search this forum when a search is performed elswhere on the website. If you want a more specific "Forum Only" search, you'll still need to come to the forum to do so but now all of the related messages will be shown in the search results when the website is searched.

The mambot will work on JoomlaBoard 1.1.3 Stable and Joomla 1.0.11 Stable.
It is possible that the bot will work on older and newer versions of Joomla, Mambo, SimpleBoard, and JoomlaBoard but no testing has been performed.

The Mambot parameters allow for the following options in the functionality of the bot:

• Limit the number of search results that will be displayed for the forum.


• Specify the section name used in the search results to tell the user what part of the site the information is found in. ie. (Handy PHP Forum / Joomla Extentions) for this topic!


• Specify whether or not the forum messages bulletin board code will be displayed in raw form or converted to plain text.

This topic will act as the support topic for the Mambot.

Great Job,

but there is still a bug:

authorisation should be considered, it seems that only sections with public access level &quot;everybody&quot; are scaned.

hmm,
I didn't even notice that. I checked for specific groups but not for the &quot;All Registered&quot; group. I'll look into this and post an updated file when I have resolved the issue.
