Thank you, it is always nice to have someone pass the word on even if it isn't always good for me. Feel free to drop by anytime and if you have any feature suggestions, new bugs, or new extension; just make a post.

sadly the forum hits still arent being shown to unlogged/guest users on my test site.

as guest i do a search for word and only joomla article hit shows. from same page i login and immediately i see loads of forum hits. then i logout and go back the search result page and forum hits have disappeared leaving the only joomla article hit to show.

also theres one other thing. when it lists forum hits and joomla hits it first lists all forum hits in chronological order then at end it lists joomla hits after even if they are much newer than the forum hits.

the other smf search mambot i used does display search results from forums to guests but it also suffers from showing first all forum hits then joomla article hits at the very end regardless of the chronological order.

Post edited by: jarri, at: 2006/11/14 05:05

jarri, I'm sorry that the Mambot is not working for you. There must be some setting in your SMF installation that we are missing. The only reason I think that it might be your SMF installation, is because this seems to be an isolated incident. Another user, aravot, is using a similar configuration as you but the Mambot is working fine. The only way I would know for sure wat was going on is by looking at your smf_boards database table. Since this isn't likely, I'm afraid I can't offer a solution at this time.
I really can't fix a problem if I can't duplicate it.

As for the dispay order of the search results, that is an issue with Joomla. Joomla access the Mambots in the order you have them arranged in the Admin Control Panel. It then returns all of the results for that Mambot then moves to the next mambot. If you have 3 or more Mambots all returning results for a query, you'll notice that they are grouped by each Mambot that returned them.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience with the developement of this Mambot. I'm sorry that you couldn't have benefitted more from it.
