First, it should be pointed out that Handy PHP now has a working forum. The Handy PHP Forum will be for the discussion of resources found on the website as well as a place for members to ask and answer PHP questions. Additional forums and categories will be added as needed. Currently the following forums and categories are available: Handy PHP Handy PHP Forum Handy PHP Website Handy PHP Resources Handy PHP Functions Handy PHP Tutorials Request Functions Request Tutorials Request Classes PHP Questions General PHP Questions A resource index system has been installed on Handy PHP but is currently inactive. Once it has been fully configured, it will be made public. This feature will allow for the addition of links to other PHP resources on the internet. Categories will be set up for both website links as well as links to individual PHP resouces like tutorials, functions, and scripts. This should be a very helpful addition to the website. After misidentifying a script incompatabilty issue, the website was completely reinstalled! It had been suspected that one of the previously installed features of the website for user management was causing the new forum script to not work correctly. It appeared that the forums template system was not working at all. Since the user management system was hard coded, it was easier to reinstall the website than to uninstall the feature. Once the website was reinstalled without the suspected incompatable component, it was realized that the forum script doesn't really have a template "system"! Turns out that the "template" only effected the appearence of the the posts. The rest of the layout was hard coded in the forum script files and most of it has been edited now. There are a few files that still need editing but the majority of the forum is fine now. The suspected incompatable component has been reinstalled now and everything is functioning "normally"! The website is receiving more and more visitors everyday. We aren't getting anyone to register for free membership but at least they are coming. The submission of functions at The PHP Resource Index has really started to pay off. Additionally, topics about Handy PHP have been actively discussed at PHP friendy websites which is also generating traffic. With the addition of the forum, it shouldn't be long until new members begin to register since only members may post in the forums. The number of pages viewed by visitors in the pst 15 days is nearly twice as many as the 15 days before that. This shows that the website is generating more and more interest and as a result, should begin to take on a life of it's own. Currently the interest in the website is kind of artificailly generated because people are visiyting to view the resources here. Once enough people begin to submit their own resources and the website is truely interactive, it will no longer be necessary to artificailly stimulate the growth of the website. If you would like to suggest features for the website or make any other comment, please visit the forums. Open discussion of the website will offer the best possible outcome for the website. All input either positive or negative will be considered. Many times negative comments make for the most productive input! It is not Handy PHP's desire to supress anyone's opinion or viewpoint even if it isn't popular or doesn't agree with the policies or adminitration of theis website.
