Hello,

I've got an issue with Search Joomlaboard 1.1.0: it doesn't show matching categories. According to the mambot settings, it should show category-results before matching posts - but only matching post do appear as search results.

This happens on two different joomla-sites: http://www.gymnasium-hechingen.de and http://www.phv-bw-tue.de

They're both Joomla 1.0.12 with Joomlaboard 1.1.4.

Does anybody else experience this problem? Is there a fix available?

Well, let me try to explain how the category search works.

The category search only searches the category names and descriptions against the search term. It does not search the posts inside the category which I believe is what you were expecting. If this was the case, then the searchbot would return the some of the results twice. Once for the category search and once for the topics search.

The first result for this search link is a category match:
http://www.gymnasium-hechingen.de/joomla/....hen&amp;searchphrase=any&amp;ordering=newest

I did however find a small bug that I will fix very soon which will actually reduce the number of results returned. BAsically, the topic search is returning every post from a category that matches the search term.

From the link above, you will notice that the search term &quot;alles diskutiert wer&quot; will return every post in the forum &quot;Gott und die Welt&quot;. This is because &quot;alles diskutiert wer&quot; is in the description of that forum. I believe that this is the only searchbot that has this bug left in it.

Please check back for an update on this issue.
